A few months back, I rehabbed an old dining set.
The fabric on the chairs and bench were ok, but not exactly what I wanted.
I wanted something more organic and while starring at it today (yeah, I was bored), I thought of using my free coffee sacks.
I also reoriented the angle and am smacking myself for not thinking of it sooner! This layout gives me more room, in what is a very tight space.
It was 50% off day at GW yesterday and I snagged two of these frames. Not quite my cup of tea.
As I was thinking about the origins of the coffee sacks, Brasil, I wanted to add something that would conjure up an image of jungle. Since I already had some birds under the cloches, I used my cricut and some yellow vinyl to cut out some parrots, bringing another touch of yellow to the room, along with the mirror. I left the frames gold to match the Italian Florentine chest, which I moved from under the window, to under the mirror.
Not a major change, but quite impactful from my perspective.

Looks wonderful. The sacks are fabulous on the chair seats and moving the console table is so pretty under the mirror. Love your parrots in the frames also. Now aren't you just toooooooo clever. It looks wonderful. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteFantastic. I really liked the fabric, but the coffee sacks are so cool and add texture. Love the contrast between the sleek table and the rough coffee sacks. The parrots are just too creative...great pop of color to tie in with the mirror. And the rearrangement makes the room look bigger. It's amazing how a few little changes can have such a huge impact! Well done!
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love!!! I just love your house!
ReplyDeleteLooks great!
ReplyDeleteNice!! Love how the chair pads transformed your table and chairs! You did this all today?!? Wow!

I love the coffee sacks on the chairs!! This is such a neat room!! It has such a vintage/modern feel. :)
ReplyDeleteYou are so creative! It looks great, the art really picks up on the mirror frame.
ReplyDeleteWhere is it that you get these free sacks? I so want some. And that artwork on the walls is fabulous. I've been thinking of a circuit because everyone in the Bloggy World seems to have one. Would you say its a good investment?

PS I'm your newest follower. Come be mine, too, if you like my stuff:)
Sometimes it's little changes that make a big difference :-) The new sack upholstered chairs & bench look great, and I really like the yellow bird silhouettes in the frames.
ReplyDeleteYour home always looks so clean and fresh, so well thought out. Just when I think an area is perfect, you do a couple of tweaks and show me what perfect REALLY looks like. And usually for almost free.
ReplyDeleteLove these!

ReplyDeleteThis is such a creative transformation. I especially like how you chose the theme {Brazil/jungle}, but your room doesn't look "themey" - - it looks just right.
ReplyDeleteThis really gave these chairs great personality.
