Upcycled: skirt to tote bag

I picked up this skirt at the GW for $3.50 because I really like the fabric. I am in need of a new tote for back and forth to work, and this fabric is so pretty with it’s beads and sequins.

I cut off the bottom to use as handles. The top of the skirt became inside pockets.

I didn’t have any coordinating fabric for the inside, so I used some left over drop cloth.
Now I have a stylin’ tote for $3.50 and a little bit of time.

  2. It is so cute, and clever, too! It will make you smile all the way to work! :)

Oh, and I didn't want to forget to mention this...Donna at Funky Junk Interiors is having the theme of unique lighting next weekend, and I thought immediately of your cool light fixture you made for your daughter's room! Just wanted to let you know, in case you wanted to link it to her party, because that light was amazing! :)

I hope you had a good weekend, and that you have a wonderful Monday!

  3. Oh my goodness, that is the cutest bag ever! So, if I find an awesome shirt, or skirt I"m sending it your way for one of those fabulous bags!

Oh and any time you want to head this way you would be most welcome! It might not be that far, :)
